Washington Irving once wrote, “They who think beer will drink beer.” But neither you nor the team at Blichmann Engineering only think or drink beer. That’s why we’ve developed the WineEasy wine fermentor. Combining our track record for consistent, revolutionary innovation with a system unrivaled by traditional fermenting and pressing techniques, the world of wine just got a faster, easier-to-use, mess-free way of producing consistently superb wine.

To borrow a little Latin, in vino veritas means “in wine there is truth.” The truth about our WineEasy™ is that you’ll enjoy exceptional features including:

Variable capacity tank great for bulk aging with no tire to keep inflated No messy transfers to a secondary fermenter Less risk of contamination and oxidation Great press efficiency Quicker production times Easy to use Simple, mess-free cleanup

At the heart of this system is a high-quality, stainless steel primary fermenter (available in 20, 30, or 55 gallon sizes). The uniquely designed false bottom allows the pomace to be separated from the wine while draining the unit. The tines on the pressure plate support the perforated false bottom and keep the fermenter from collapsing under the pressure of the vacuum pump.

After alcoholic fermentation, the free run is drained or pumped out of the fermenter and the sliding piston assembly is installed. The vacuum pump evacuates the carboy and applies a vacuum under the false bottom. This causes atmospheric pressure to push down on the sliding piston, pressing the pomace to the ideal maximum pressure of 14 PSI to avoid hard-press conditions.

Because all of this is done in a completely closed air-tight system without transferring the pomace to a press, oxidation, contamination, and mess are virtually eliminated.

Cleanup is as easy as scooping the dry pomace into a container and washing out the high-polish stainless steel fermenter.
